Onalaska Families, Due to the rapid snow accumulation and changing road conditions, we have made the decision for the safety of our students and staff to dismiss school early today at 1:30. Buses will be on snow routes. All evening activities are cancelled. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Update: Due to icy roads and dangerous driving conditions for our students and staff, Onalaska schools will now be remote today, February 3rd. Remote learning will still start on a 2 hour delay to give all time to prepare. Check our website for remote schedules. Students check email and google classroom.

Onalaska Families, You may have heard that the district experienced a short power outage this afternoon. Everyone did very well and we are back up and running as normal. Kudos to the creativity and patience of our staff and students! Stay safe!

The lost and found is overflowing! Please come take a look after school for any of your student lost belongings. All items that are remaining after school on Friday, November 22nd, will be donated.

In Mrs. Olsen's class, Election Day was filled with excitement as our young learners explored the voting process firsthand! To celebrate, students held a lively vote to decide who would be the President of Kindergarten: Duck or Mrs. Olsen herself! With ballots in hand, each student proudly cast their vote, learning about choices, counting, and the joy of making their voices heard.

We are collecting food and hygiene items through October 25th for a Middle School and Elementary School Food Drive. The classes are competing for a classroom party for who has the most donated items. In total 983 items have been donated so far. The donations are going to the Onalaska Alliance for the backpack program and Jackson Prairie Food Bank.

On Tuesday, Second graders went on a walking field trip to the Onalaska Fire Department for fire prevention week. The firefighters emphasized the importance of having an escape plan, knowing their home address, and checking their smoke alarms regularly. Students participated in three stations, including a memorable station where students escaped through a window in the smoke house. At the end of the visit, each student received a fire prevention-themed goody bag from the Onalaska Fire Department.

Every Friday TK does a science project. Recently we did a foil project that they used washable markers and sprayed it with water then pressed a picture on it and it make it look like water colors!

Due to ongoing construction on Highway 508, which is causing longer than usual delays, some bus routes may experience delays in dropping off students. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.

TK has been working on writing our letters!

Second grade students in Mrs. Smith's class just finished reading "The Big Dig." The story talks about the process of excavating dinosaur bones. Today, students experienced paleontology and excavated a dinosaur, which came with a fact card. Here are some pictures from our exciting day!
